Mission & Objectives

 

Training and Education:

  1. Develop a standardized curriculum for rotating residents and fellows from Internal Medicine,    Neurology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine that includes exposure to Neurocritical Care (NCC).
  2. Supervise, evaluate & promote educational courses, symposia and events endorsed by the Saudi Critical Care Society (SCCS) in the field of Neurocritical Care.
  3. NCC Fellowship establishment, Collaboration and organization of resources to achieve Excellency in the field of NCC.


Quality of Patient Care:

  1. Identify and implement best medical practices for acute neurological disorders that are consistent with current scientific knowledge.
  2. Develop SCCS protocols & guidelines for the commonly encountered Neurological emergencies in the ICU.
  3. Advocate for patients care and respect of their values.


Research:

  1. Identify and promote research opportunities and projects related to Neurocritical Care through communication with the SCCS members, interested health care professionals in the field of Critical Care Medicine and related sub-specialties.
  2. Search and evaluate the Medical Literature in the field of Neurocritical Care.
  3. Collaboration in international clinical trials & contribution to international conferences and symposia.


Public Awareness:

  1.   Develop Arabic language educational materials and brochures endorsed by the SCCS for common Neurological diseases in the ICU to improve understanding of disease for patients' family & relatives as well as the post-ICU care of their sick relatives. 
  2. Develop Neurocritical Care related content for distribution via public media throuh the SCCS.
